Mahatma Gandhi said, “If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito!” Indeed. Therefore, we each harbor greatness.

We were born with it. It only takes the opportunity to germinate the seed buried within us. I have seen this trait blossom many times in the most unlikely individuals.

Some will say it is destiny, while others point to a divine hand, and yet, I have seen it occur when the situation to demonstrate this greatness appeared before its perpetrator.

One does not have to search far to find such individuals. They exist in our police and security forces, firefighters, first responders, the Army, and leaders who care about America, our underprivileged citizens, and the planet.

I have seen it in doctors and nurses who have gone the distance and teachers who thought more of their students than themselves.

I have known such men and women, and I have been present to their greatness. It was always outstanding.
