Who is your super-hero?

We were brave young men, to be sure.

It did not take much to join our courageous band on the battlefield.

All it took was becoming a team member and completing one mission. If the individual survived the event, the initiation ended.

We did not tolerate disobedience, hesitation, or needlessly engaging the enemy. Others did so but not us.

Our objective was to rescue and extract the target as quickly, quietly, and efficiently as possible. My commanding officer stated, “In, out, on the bus at the pick-up time and back to the ranch.”

Still, I cannot understand how we survived it all. And yet, I believe a man only proves his worth if he was once a soldier.
