UNLESS you witness the grotesque effects of combat, it becomes impossible to understand the deep horror. It is unthinkable that believing in the All-Mighty, honest, and the law could disappear against the onslaught of war.

If you will, think about the blind terror of surviving on the battlefield. Visualize thousands of enemies coming at you where they will reach your position and demand hand-to-hand confrontations.

See the deformed and damaged bodes of your comrades torn to pieces from exploding steel. There is an insidious evil that penetrates the psyche. It brings and intense level of anxiety and terror.

The total insanity of your position manifests, and then the thoughtless rage leads to total abandonment of your previous existence. And this condition, I found all manner of depravity became possible.

How can it happen? And yet, in the heat of battle, it will occur, and in some cases, it will save lives. It is the grit that creates monsters, but also of heroes who will sacrifice themselves to save their brothers.
