Ha, John. As they would say back in the old neighborhood, "I ain't no hero!" but I'm glad for your kind words. Yup, I'm a loser alright. I don't smoke, drink, loyal to my one and only girl, and my best friend has always been my wife. Compared to all those who drive expensive cars, hob nob with the upper crust at golf clubs, I worked 24/7 to give my family the good life and provide for my Vietnam buddies in trouble. I intend to donate the net proceeds of my upcoming memoir, Vietnam Uncensored, to a charitable foundation that helps veterans in need. As an X-associate said, "Why you doing that?" I didn't try to explain. If he didn't know, there was no sense explaining. I answered, "Well, you know Len, I'm just a loser." He smiled and nodded. "Yup! And that's why I like you. You always seem to do the right thing when everyone is showing off. "Nothing to show off except some old scars," I answered. And that put an end to the conversation. But thanks for your encouraging words. Best regards.
