Hi, Bill. I am glad you kicked the bad stuff, found the good things, and found the path to a productive life with happiness. I can empathize with everything you mentioned, but being an athiest really should not have put you down. As far as I have learned the more you pray and do nothing, the worse it gets. But that’s a personal observation. I do not trust any written word put down thosands of years ago, with fantastic accounts. My buddies and I suffered injuries and PTSD on returning home from the battlefields of Vietnam. Trauma cannot be outrun, out-treated, out-medicated, and out-lived. It is misunderstood, and it exists to destroy everything good. It is the brother of bi-polar, but with a violent side that often leads to acts of ugly proportions. It is characterized by all the addictions available to relieve the anxiety, but nothing helps. I know, I am a prime case. Yet, the monster is controlable, barely. The best thing is to squirrel yourself away from people and scream at the fish in the morning lake of calmness, at the bear hunting for berries, and the Canadian geese for waking you at 5 am as they fly south. But that’s a whole other conversation. I liked you article. Thanks for sharing. Just you are not alone in having conqured your demons, and it is encouraging that you have set an example. Continued good luck. Regards
