Hi, Daniel. From an academic perspective, many scrutinize the Third Reich from a historical performance. The history speaks of the Nazi's as the many scholarly works about the Romans. Unless one has lived in the times, it is not possible to know what drove those involved. In regards to WWII and the millions who died, we have many who lived to witness the brutality, beastiality, and horror of the most horrific regime in modern history. The Nazis were a force unto themselves. An evil permeating the very soul of those who followed their leader and king, Adlof Hitler into the bowels of hell, whose purpose was to eat and digest all humankind into a world of slaves to do their bidding. To think such men and women were just average men and women who made a mistake by following a madman is an error. There is a mountain of literature that explains the mind of the average German, educated, brought up beleiving in God, and led the world in the arts, culture, sciences, and mathematics to be transformed into slave masters and gouls is as unimaginable as it impossible to beleive. Yes, Goebbels was a Nazi. A monster in human-clothing, who had a hand in exteerminating 7 million men, women, and children for no other reason as they were different/
