Hi, Elisabeth. I liked your article about highlighting becoming the oldest member of a group. From your writing I imagine you believe age is but a number and the body is only there to carry the brain. If the memory is whole, and the will to participate, learn, laugh, and find joy still sparks, then the light behind the eyes is as young and vibrant as ever. As you know only the ignorant and the young think of age as a defining factor. Because it is not! I'm ancient by some standards, but I still love to read, write, learn, and most of all laugh. I like loving those who love me, and enjoy a good play, Puccini's La Traviotta, and the recordings of Dinah Washington, Ella Fitsgerald, and Stevie Ray Vaugn. I'm a Vietnam veteran, and the only one of my buddies still around to hug his grandkids, bother my daughters, and take special note of remembering all those wonderful people who passed through my life. Now, that "ain't" nothing, as we used to say back in the day on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Regards.
