Hi, J.W. I agree with you that Tostoy was a man of moral principal who stood for what he believed. His writings convey his feelings of pacifism. Many do not know, Tolstoy was denied the Nobel Prize for Literature because he was anti-war. Yet, his words ring true today as they did at the time of his publishing career. His words brought meaning to self-awarness, non-violence as a means of protest, gratititude, and the meaning of life. For example, Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela were inspired by his teaching. As for me, I fell hopelessly in love with Anna Karina at sixteen. More than 60 years later, I still pine for her. Thanks for your penetrating essay. I enjoyed the read. Regards
