Hi Jake. If only self-help worked. As a Vietnam veteran, I have suffered the effects of PTSD since returning to the U.S. from combat. Unfortunately, the illness cannot be outrun, out trained, out medicated, out treated, or outlived. It's effects push away freinds and loved ones without mercy in fits of instant rage, bad decisions, and anger. The only self in this illness, is self-destruction and isolation. While my behavior cannot permantly change for the better, I am fortunate to have those who love and understand the condition and stick with me. This has made all the difference in allowing me to lead a somewhat normal life. I think the unconditional love and support of family, loved ones, and friends makes a difference. Thanks for sharing. Regards
