Hi, Jeffrey. The corporate tax breaks given to corporations during the previous administration was straight out pandering to those who put the president in power. It did nothing for the economy, but drove up the deficit by extraordinary amounts. The lack of these funds and the effects of COVID drove the deficit to epic hieghts. Inflation was more than predictable, and here we are with the results. It took the Democrats to fix the Financial Crises left by their predecessors, yet grandstanding. talking tough, and trashing oponents seemed to deflect the blame from the perpetrators, and they won the next election. In simple language, the GOP wants the Dems to fail, regardless of the consequences to the country. Then they can remain in power. For real change to occur, the congressional demographics must change.
