Hi, Jennifer. You have my vote that luck is truly defined as hard work, focus, and determination. As a Vietnam veteran, I can say that neither prayers nor chance had anything to do with our survival. It was our training, skill, endurance, strength, and dedication to purpose that pulled us through those difficult times. I do not remember one commander who said, 'Good Luck!" My immediate superior ended his order with, "And come back safe, You are no use to me dead and injured." We did our best. Unfortunately, it was not enough. 58,000 of my brothers died and 150,000 returned injured. But I am not sorry I served my country. I liked your article. Thanks for sharing. Regards
