Hi, Loren. I like your piece about the Los Angeles River. The only part missing is what happened to the indigenous tribe that once inhabited its shores. As all things American Indian, they became marginalized, mistreated, and displaced. I wonder if even one member exists today. America's treatment of the the native peoples, the herds they hunted, and the rivers they fished were taken over and destroyed by the greed of settlers seeking gold. And yet, not a word to the contrary in any history book taught in public schools. Best regards.
