Hi Patrick: The 60's remained a time fueled by might makes right, the ends justify the means, and remnants of colonialism. The U.S., U.K., and the USSR, acted as if they were the policemen of the world. As for the UK there were ten classes of colonial rule beginning with colonies and filtering down to protectorates, dominions, mandates and the British Raj. Old habits die hard, and the British army, still believed in holding on to the crumbling empire. The short-lived Dominion of Kenya, being one. I liked your piece about Kenya.
