Hi Randy: I liked your articles, invwn’t speak for pre and post Vietnam, and even speak for what happened in n Nam or why. I led a Special Ops team, in 1967-68, snd to tell the truth, I can barely speak for my experiences. What I can speak for was the amazing man whose lives touched mine. My God, where does one find so many Amazing courageous American assembled at your side to be called brothers? Certainly not in civilian life. Where else does an average guy find men who will Kay down their lives for you before their next breath. You occasionally some politician saying, “That’s what soldiers and Marines do. That’s what they’re trained to do!”
Oh yeah! Right! Brave men want to die? Men who proudly serve their country have a death wish? Our men and wo.en in uniform are ready to pay the ultimate price for their brother, their country and the ideal if America.
As for Vietnam, this Veteran will believe any story, any character, fact, or fiction. From what I witnessed, participated and lived, there us no horror, terror, or act of self-sacrifice I saw that can be any worse then what someone can imagine.
It took many years to conquer the effects if PTSD and ADHD to be able to write my memoir. Reliving the events nearly destroyed me I finallyvot it done and hope to publish it soon. As you, regardless if what happened, I am proud to have served, and consider it a privilege. Just saying.
