HI, Tom. I liked your essay about the hope of being saved. I often thought this way during the Vietnam war as my team and I trudged across that blood soaked earth to complete our mssions. When we called for air support, none came. When we radioed HQ our position was being overrun, no one came. When we were injured and needed evacuation, no one came. One of our mantras became, "Don't you dare let me die here!" And we didn't. No one was left behind, because the only help that saved us was our own. Thanks for sharing. Regards
