I like the story of your recent essay. I'm glad you took the initiative to help in the best way possible. Of course, taking the license plate numbers and car descriptions would have done the trick, but you went the distance and for that, Lauren, you get a Civilian Commendation Medal. A similar incident happened to me in Florida when the second driver began wailing on a woman. I was in my 40's and only 12 years separated me from my military service in Vietnam. The guy took a swing at me and I ducked, put him in a half nelson, and put him down. The woman called 911. "Why'd you risk injury for a stranger?" the administering police officer questioned. "I'm Airborne Ranger. All disputes are settled with violence. I couldn't walk away." But my wife was less sympathetic calling me every expletive that came to mind. Yup! I'm a moron! Regards.
