Thanks for your positive feedback and sharing your thoughts. We rarely discussed our anxiety as we moved forward on an assignment. The unit acted as one organism where every member of the team made the right moves when the time came. I have often said the squad accomplished impossible feats of courage, as if we possessed magical talents. And yet, our bodies were composed of flesh and bones that easily injured. But not a one of us ever complained. And yes, our lives would gladly forfeit to save another. Not that we thought ourselves heroes never occurred- just guys trying to survive against impossible odds.
