VIETNAM UNCENSORED: THE HEARTS OF HEROES

A thousand photographs deep and counting. Each captures its tale of courage, fear, and sacrifice. One photo haunts me still. Firefighters, brave souls, ran up those stairs in the Twin Towers, knowing they might never return. They left behind the promise of home and the warmth of their loved ones. Duty called. They answered, risking everything.

In Vietnam, we felt the same pull. When the fighting began, we plunged into the unknown. Orders came, and we moved forward, brothers at our side, eyes on the enemy. Survival took precedence. We fought for each other. No man left behind.

“Stand your ground,” the words echoed in our minds. We reacted as trained. Hour after hour, we pressed on, sometimes for days, until the enemy was gone or help arrived.

Marines, Airborne, 1st Cav, Army — men facing impossible odds, yet they stood firm. I was there. I saw ordinary men perform extraordinary feats. Strength and courage pushed beyond the limits. I loved them for it, awed by their greatness

I could tell a thousand stories about those moments. When I think of Americans, I think of them. If I live a thousand years, I will salute them, grateful for their sacrifice. One saved me. He never returned. This truth humbles me.
