When the dream was the only thing that mattered
I find it amusing how performers need to wear outrageous outfits to separate themselves from the masses who want their ten minutes of fame. They will do anything to get the viewer’s attention, regardless of how rude, stupid, infantile, and occasionally politically incorrect their actions display.
But, of course, there is only one uniform that truly separates civilians from everyone else, and it is worn by those who protect this nation from harm. It comes with sacrifice, commitment, and unparalleled courage.
Those who wear the emblems of their units are not famous. They will never have thousands, if not millions, of followers on media platforms, but they are the true heroes of our time.
You will not find them singing, dancing, acting, or doing stupid things to gain attention. On the contrary, the men and women of whom I speak put their service to our country ahead of themselves. These individuals do not expect gratitude or reward for their service, although it is appreciated. Instead, they perform their duty in the hopes of making a difference. And you know what? They do!
